De Gruyter Open

From December 2015 Agricultura journal will be published in partnership with De Gruyter Open (degruyteropen.com), the world's second largest publisher of Open Access academic content, and part of the De Gruyter group which has over 260 years of publishing history. De Gruyter Open closely cooperates with the majority of abstracting and indexing services, universities and libraries, providing a wide availability of journal's content and increasing its visibility. Agricultura's full-text articles will be found also at the new address on the De Gruyter Open's platform in following weeks.

The fruit production in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is slowly returning to normality after Balkan wars. Due to favorable climatic and soil conditions it represents a clear business opportunity for family farms. The decision which fruit species/variety to grow is a complex decision and should be made on the basis of sound empirical analysis. This paper presents a multi criteria model for planning and decision making on fruit farms in BIH. The model combines financial cost benefit analysis and multi attribute decision making methodology based on expert system DEX-i. In the first stage the technological and financial cost benefit analysis were conducted for each fruit production alternative. The results were further evaluated with expert system DEX-i considering all possible criteria influencing the fruit grower decision. In the case of a sample family farm the plum yielded with best multi criteria evaluation, followed by apple and pear, while sour cherry gave unsatisfactory outcome.

Key words: cost benefit analysis, fruit production, multi attribute decision modeling, expert system DEX - i

Več-kriterijski odločitveni model za obnovo sadovnjaka – študija primera v Bosni in Hercegovini

Zaradi ugodnih klimatskih in talnih razmer vsekakor predstavlja jasno poslovno priložnost za družinske kmetije. Odločitev, katere sadne vrste / sorte, vključiti v sadovnjak, terja premislek in natančno empirično analizo. Pridobljeni rezultati so bili nadalje ovrednoteni z ekspertnim sistemom DEX-i.

Ključne besede: primerjalna analiza skupnih stroškov in prihodkov (CBA) / pridelava sadja / več-kriterijski model / ekspertni sistem DEX-i
